Description
Die Schülerin Lindsay erlebt eine dramatische Wendung in ihrem Leben, als Wayne Adams, ein von ihrem Vater Mike - dem Footballtrainer der Schule - rekrutierter Football-Star, bei ihnen einzieht. Ihre erste Begegnung ist angespannt, doch Lindsay muss ihre Gefühle aufgrund der Warnungen ihres Vaters unterdrücken. Fest entschlossen, vor ihrem Abschluss einen Freund zu finden, enden Lindsays Versuche oft in peinlichen Situationen mit unzuverlässigen Jungs. Doch Wayne ist immer da, um ihr aus der Patsche zu helfen. Als ihre Verbindung sich vertieft, beginnen sie eine heimliche Beziehung. Währenddessen eskaliert das Mobbing in der Schule, was Lindsay dazu veranlasst, sich für ihre Mitschüler einzusetzen. Ihre Bemühungen gewinnen die Unterstützung und den Respekt der Schulgemeinschaft. Am Ende werden Lindsay und Wayne zum Ballkönigspaar gekrönt, und Mike gibt ihrer Beziehung endlich seinen Segen.
