Description
Nach dem tragischen Tod ihrer Tochter Alyssa bei einem Einsturz eines Jugendzentrums sucht Hazel nach Gerechtigkeit und Rache an ihrem Feuerwehr-Ehemann Jace, der sich dafür entschied, seine Ex-Geliebte Candace und deren Tochter Kimberly zu retten. Von Trauer und Wut zerfressen macht Hazel Jace und Candace für Alyssas Tod verantwortlich. Während sie ihre Trauer verarbeitet, verwandelt Hazel ihren Schmerz in wohltätiges Engagement und gründet eine Stiftung zur Unterstützung von Kindern. Von Schuldgefühlen geplagt, versucht Jace seine Entscheidungen wiedergutzumachen, was zu seinem selbst auferlegten Exil führt. Schließlich lässt Hazel los, findet neue Liebe und überlässt es Jace, sich den Konsequenzen seiner Handlungen zu stellen.
