Description
납치범들이 마틸다의 어린 딸 엘로디를 납치하였다. 엘로디는 경찰에 의해 구조되었지만 보호시설로 보내지고 연락이 끊기게 되는데. 마틸다와 그녀의 아들 칼슨은 포기하지 않고 모든 돈을 엘로디를 찾는 일에 사용하며 굶어 죽을 지경에 이르고, 그러던 중 20년이 넘는 노력 끝에 엘로디가 돌아온다. 엘로디는 억만장자 CEO인 엘로디 애트킨스가 되어 있었고 엘로디의 회사는 그녀가 자란 동네의 재개발을 위해 마틸다의 집을 파괴하려 하지만, 그곳은 가족이 다시 뭉칠 수 있는 유일한 공간이다.
